Tourists can buy 3 types of EUrail passes. The EUrail Global Pass gives access to over 33 countries. The EUrail single-country pass is applicable for only one country of your choice. Children aged 4-11 years can buy an EUrail pass for free. For those aged 12-17, the passes cost approximately INR 12,000 for second class and INR 14,000 approx for first class. For adults aged 28 to 59 years, the tickets cost INR 13,800 for second class and approximately INR 17, 000 for first class. Lastly, for senior citizens aged 60 years and above, the second class is INR 12,500 Rupees in first class and INR 16,000 in second class.
With a EUrail pass, you can travel anywhere and anytime in Europe. Except for some trains, most of them can be boarded easily using this pass during your travel days. The pass also gives flexible access to a majority of trains in Europe. So even if you miss one, your pass will be valid to board another train.
EUrail pass is valid only for intercity trains in Rome operated by the Italian State Railway, along with those under the Trenitalia network. Do note that with this pass, you cannot travel in metros or trams. The pass also permits you to travel in buses, but only in the ones operated by the railways.
If you are buying it physically, head to a major railway station in any of the participating countries. A railway official will stamp the pass and fill the start and end date and validate them.
